Malawi is one of the friendliest countries in Africa. Their nickname is ‘The warm heart of Africa’. Malawi is a densely populated country that is located in Southern Africa, in the east of Zambia and in the west of Mozambique. Malawi is landlocked which means that the country does not has any boundaries with a sea. Malawi covers an area of 118,480 km2, so it is slightly smaller than Greece. Around 16 million people live in Malawi and most of them live in the capital Lilongwe.There are two main religions in Malawi, the Islam and Christianity. 82,7% of the population is Christian, 13% Muslim and 1.9% other religions. The climate is sub-tropical with a main rainy season which is from December to April and a dry season which is from May to November.In Malawi the natives speak Chichewa, which is the official language and the most common language in Malawi. The Malawi they pay with the currency the Kwacha. One Kwacha is roughly €0,002,-
