History of OUR project

On the 13^th of May 2013, we had a bake sale in our own cafeteria. Eva baked most of all. She made two fondant cakes and English cupcakes decorated with buttercream. Sanne made cupcakes, Ellen made brownies and Hanna made a vanilla cake and a ginger bread. To promote the bake sale we made a few posters and we hung them up. They were bright-coloured and caught everybody’s attention during the day. The bake sale was ready to start!

In the first break we already earned 28 euros! To prevent competition from the canteen we sold them for 50ct each. However, after a quarter of an hour we noticed Eva’s fondant cakes were tremendously popular so we decided to raise the price to 1 euro. We definitely made some profit out of that. During the second break, we sold them out really fast! We baked a lot and yet we managed to sell everything in only half an hour. The total amount of money we made with this bake sale is: €66,15.

In reflection, we think we can be proud of ourselves. We have worked very hard to get it all done and running but we have achieved our goal: helping the children in Malawi!
